Value of an Online Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling

The University of Oklahoma’s CACREP-accredited online Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling prepares you to support individuals, families and communities through a curriculum grounded in counseling theory, professional responsibility and ethical practice. CACREP accreditation recognizes that the program meets national standards for counselor education, including curriculum, faculty and clinical training. Designed for students pursuing meaningful careers in mental health, the program combines academic preparation with practical experience. Through online coursework, a 100-hour practicum and a 600-hour internship, students develop the counseling knowledge and hands-on experience needed to serve today’s mental health needs. The program also prepares students to meet the educational requirements for becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oklahoma.* *This degree is approved by the Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health Licensure and meets the educational requirements of becoming an LPC in Oklahoma. Licensure requirements vary by state, and students outside of Oklahoma should review the state licensure board requirements for their state.
