“I wondered whether or not I would be able to make the connections necessary for my professional work. I was glad when I found that my worries were unwarranted. My professors have been willing to suggest future connections and answer questions about career possibilities. Additionally, the career center has been very helpful.”

Admissions Process

We’ve made applying to OU Online simple, supportive, and student-centered. Follow these four steps to get started on your path to a bachelor’s degree.

Step 1: Connect With an Enrollment Coach

Your journey starts with a conversation. Reach out to an enrollment coach who will walk you through your options, answer your questions, and help you choose the program that fits your goals. You can request info or schedule a call.

Step 2: Explore Your Fit

During your one-on-one conversation, you’ll talk through your academic and career goals, review your previous college experience, and learn how your credits may transfer. Your coach will help you understand degree requirements and get you on the right path.

Step 3: Submit Your Application

Once you’re ready, you’ll complete the OU Online application and submit your transcripts. Your enrollment coach will guide you through the process and make sure everything is in place. You’ll receive your admission decision quickly — usually within two to three business days.

Step 4: Get Ready to Start

After you’re admitted, you’ll finalize your enrollment, complete any financial aid steps, and prepare for your first day of class. Your coach will help you register, access your student portal, and connect with support services so you feel confident and ready.

Transfer Credits & Prior Learning

What if I don't meet the admissions requirements?

If you do not meet the adult degree completion admissions requirements, the University of Oklahoma offers other degree programs that might be right for you. Schedule a visit with an enrollment coach to discuss your options.

Do I need an associate degree to apply?

No. Applicants should have at least 60 college credit hours completed, but they do not need an associate degree to be admitted.

When can I start classes?

Our programs are offered year-round and in eight-week increments. We offer five start dates, with opportunities to begin taking classes in the fall (August or October), spring (January or March), and summer (June).

All programs have a rolling admissions process; however, applicants are encouraged to have their completed applications submitted a minimum of two weeks prior to the start date they intend to begin. Your application is considered complete when we have received official transcripts from all institutions you have attended (academic and military, if applicable). We require a separate transcript from each institution.

Where do I send my transcripts?

Once you apply, we welcome you to submit your information to our Online Transcript Request Form, and we will attempt to order official transcripts from all prior institutions for you. Some institutions do not allow third-party transcript requests. In those cases, you will be contacted and asked to order the official transcript.

To be considered official, transcripts must be enclosed in a sealed envelope and mailed directly from the institution you attended to the following address

The University of Oklahoma
OU Online
Attn: Incoming Transcripts
1610 Asp Avenue, Room 108
Norman, OK 73072

Transcripts may be submitted electronically as long as they are sent directly from the institution you attended to pacsugadmissions@ou.edu. Unfortunately, transcripts submitted through any other method of delivery can’t be accepted as official.

How much will it cost?

If you would like to compare the estimated cost of your program with a typical financial aid package, you can use the cost calculator on our OU Online financial aid page.
