The OU College of Law’s online LLM in Energy and Natural Resources Law program allows lawyers practicing energy law to further their specialization. It also prepares lawyers who want to transition into an energy law practice. This 24-credit hour program exposes students to legal education on the entire energy lifecycle, including courses on upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas contracts and environmental law.

Students in the program are taught by OU Law faculty and adjunct faculty, including attorneys practicing law for energy firms and oil and gas corporations. Our instructors are carefully selected for their Energy and Natural Resources law expertise.

The LLM in Energy and Natural Resources Law program students complete the 24-credit-hour curriculum in seven-week modules. There are two modules per semester, and students typically have a short break between modules. While 24 credits are required at a minimum to complete the program, students interested in Midstream Oil and Gas Law can add this course to their program of study in Module 3.

The admissions committee operates under a rolling admissions process, and admissions may continue until two weeks before the start of classes. However, some programs may have an earlier application deadline. The committee strives to respond to all applicants within two weeks from the time a completed application is submitted.

Oklahoma residents: $583.50 per credit hour, plus additional fees of $193.80 per credit hour and $2,617.50 per semester; Non-residents: $1,059 per credit hour, plus additional fees of $193.80 per credit hour and $2,617.50 per semester.
Once accepted into the program, students must submit a $350 nonrefundable deposit within two weeks. Deposits are applied toward tuition expenses and secure a student’s place in the upcoming class.
