Program breakdown

The OU Online M.S. in Applied Computing provides a tailored curriculum and instruction from industry experts, allowing students to immerse themselves in a broad range of relevant topics. Core courses build expertise in algorithms, software engineering, applied database system technologies, and more. Electives allow customization through focused study in security, cloud computing, machine learning, web development, and mobile development. Courses are asynchronous, with a synchronous live component offered every other week.

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for the Master of Science in Applied Computing program, students need to hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and provide the following:

  • Complete the online graduate application: https://apply.graduate.online.ou.edu/about
  • Official transcripts from all previous undergraduate and graduate institutions
  • Current professional resume that includes past education and work experience
  • Written personal statement on career goals, expectations for the program, and experience you will be bringing to the program
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores for applicants whose first language is not English
The admissions committee operates under a rolling admission process, and admissions may continue until two weeks before classes start. The committee strives to respond to all applicants within two weeks of submitting a completed application.

Tuition and fees for the program are $29,550 ($985 per credit hour). Books and additional materials are not included.

Once accepted into the program, students must submit a $350 nonrefundable deposit within two weeks. Deposits are applied toward tuition expenses and secure a student’s place in the upcoming class. There is no application fee for this degree.
